“A thought written down becomes a wave we can observe without drowning in it.”
Di bawah sinar rembulan yang menari lembut di permukaan meja kayu, tangan saya menepuk pelan buku catatan kecil di samping Sophie.
“Sophie sayang, kadang pikiran kita ingin mengontrol semuanya dan terus memutar hal-hal yang belum tentu terjadi. Peace comes when we let go of some of it and give ourselves space.”
Sophie mengerutkan alis, matanya tetap tajam. “What do you mean by letting go, Mama? Like… deciding what stays in my head and what I write down, like you always do in that book?”
Saya tersenyum sambil meraih buku catatan kecil itu. “Iya, sayang. Mama biasanya menulis semua pikiran sebelum tidur. Bukan di kepala, tapi di kertas. Dengan begitu, pikiran bisa berhenti berlari dan hati bisa bernapas.”
Sophie mengikuti gerakan saya membuka buku. “So… if I write down everything in my mind, I can see it clearly?” “Betul, sayang. Menulis itu seperti memberi arah pada ombak. Mereka tetap ada dan bergerak, tapi kita bisa menatapnya tanpa ikut terbawa arus.”
Sophie berbisik pelan, “Mama, maybe the neighbour could write down the worries on his mind, so he could see his waves clearly without being swept away.”
Saya tersenyum lalu menatapnya dan menambahkan pelan, “Yes, sayang… sometimes seeing our thoughts outside our head is the first step to finding calm in the storm.”
“Writing is a gentle way to steer the waves inside our mind.”
