“Running away from your problems is a race. But you’ll never win. You cannot heal what you refuse to face.”
“Mbak Yov, satu container 40 feet isinya ribuan tas rotan dan saat di port ternyata poor quality hingga di reject semua. Saat dia mencoba untuk tidak tanggung jawab, tidak heran buyer-nya langsung lapor masalahnya ke embassy hingga akhirnya jadi masalah negara.”
“Satu container 20 feet saja itu bisa 3000 tas, Sarah.” Mbak Yovi menjelaskan berdasarkan pengalamannya.
“Wow, banyak sekali yah. Hebat quality control tas rotan mbak Yovi hingga buyer-nya bisa kembali percaya ke exporter Indonesia.”
Oh well, certain issues are best left alone as they’ll get solved mostly by time and sometimes other factors. For example, when I had trouble with my neighbors, I might have come out better by just ignoring them.
My neighbor bought a new karaoke machine, and they were singing really loud every early morning and late at night, to my annoyance. I considered raising the issue but decided against it as I finally found out that they were practicing as a singer for the wedding party and never troubled again after that.
On the other hand, some problems will only persist if attended to. If I ignore them, they’ll simply become part of my life and stifle me at every opportunity. Those need my attention and fast.
How quickly I attend to problems is very important, as some issues can increase in complexity with time, for example, ignoring and trying to escape from responsibility after sending a poor bag quality. Ultimately, it becomes a bigger problem when the buyer reports to the embassy.
Dear me, tame your problems when they are negligible while the damage is minimal. Otherwise, they eventually grow big when approaching and can eat you whole.
Dear mbak Yov, you are amazing.
“Running away from the problem doesn’t make it go away. What it can do is accumulate it into a hot mess that is impossible to run from and hard to fix.”
